By uniting both republicans and democrats through a nice use of words like bipartisan and "coming together" and "american people" .......by grouping people together he can more effectively speak and appeal to as many people as possible. i just thought his style was POPPIN~~!

Two other specifics is that the President wants to create more manufacturing jobs in the US - he wants to create centers that where private firms work with government to create manufacturing jobs. Also, the President wants to add a "fix it first program to repair and fix the bridges and roads all over the the country. I think all of these proposals are good ideas, but not sure if the Republicans will allow the money to be spent for these ideas.

President Obama made many proposals and three policy proposals are tax reforms and reducing deficits, manufacturing jobs and better education. President Obama want to cut spending and raise taxes on rich people, which are the 1% of American to help reduce deficits. I would support this plan because if raising taxes on the rich can help the economy and reduce deficits then why not try it. At this time, something being done is better than doing nothing. President Obama also want to create more maufacturing jobs in the United States. This wil create more jobs in the US. He said he want America to be a magnet for new jobs. He said said this in the presidential debate before too. I will support this plan because the unemployment rate in the US is very high. Many Americans are losing their jobs and this will affect the US economy. President Obama also want to higher graduation rate and to reach that goal he want to redesign high schools. He want all poor kids to have a better education. He wants high quality preschools for every child in America. I will question this because how are they going to afford this. Some families are having troubles keeping their jobs how are they are going to get higher quality preschools for every child.

Like other presidents, President Obama has a unique style to how he addresses congress and the people in general. President Obama speak with intricately built pauses in order to create a stronger effect on his words and to get people to really listen to everything he says. President Obama especially likes to use small hand gestures in order to convey his message. He would often move his hands together in the SOTU so that he can convey a message of unity between all the parties and the President. Obama tends to speak slowly throughout the SOTU because he easily jumbles his words when he begins to speed up his speech. Lastly, Obama likes to make sure that congress will clap for him after he is done giving his point. Many times congress would begin clapping, but Obama would just continue speaking because he wants everyone to hear his entire idea together instead of in chunks. If everything was in chunks, then very little will be understood and his effect on the American people would be weaker.

On Fox news the news cast lady covering the SOTU was talking fairly by speaking of all the accomplishments Obama mentioned and how he had done those things specified, but she goes on to say that Obama was being too feisty with his tone, which she believes is true because Obama isn't going to back down. I thought the whole point of the SOTU was to show that you're not going to be backing down, but instead looking for middle ground or at least new ground to solve the problems.
